국내 벤처·스타트업들이 지난해에 이어 세계 최대 전자박람회(CES)의 혁신상을 휩쓸었습니다.

인공지능(AI)부터 금융기술, 보안, 드론, 의료 등 다양한 분야의 스타트업들이 수상했습니다. 

 

11월 26일자로 공지된 대한무역투자진흥공사(코트라)에 따르면 현재까지 공개된 'CES 2024 혁신상' 수상기업 310개 중 한국 기업은 143개로 집계됐습니다.

이는 올해 혁신상을 수상한 전체 기업 중 한국 기업이 무려 46%를 차지한 것인데요.

CES 혁신상은 미국 라스베이거스에서 열리는 CES의 주최사인 미국 소비자기술협회(CTA)가 전 세계 혁신제품 중 기술성, 디자인, 혁신성이 뛰어난 제품에 수여하는 상입니다. 혁신상은 해외 진출을 준비하는 기업에 의미가 매우 큽니다.

 

국제적으로 공신력이 높아 제품의 기술성을 입증하는 지표가 될 뿐만 아니라, 브랜드 인지도 및 신뢰도를 높이는 데도 큰 도움이 되기 때문인데요.

올해 혁신상 수상기업에는 인공지능(AI), 블록체인, 헬스케어 등 다양한 분야의 국내 스타트업들이 포함됐다. 인공지능(AI) 오디오 전문 기업 '가우디오랩'은 AI 기반 실시간 소음 제거 솔루션 '저스트 보이스'로 웹쓰리 및 메타버스 부문에서 CES 2024 혁신상을 수상했다. 이로써 회사는 2년 연속 CES 혁신상을 받게 됐다. 의료 AI 솔루션 기업 '엑소시스템즈'도 AI 바이오마커 헬스케어 솔루션으로 디지털헬스 부문 혁신상을 수상했다. 엑소시스템즈가 혁신상을 수상한 건 지난 2020년에 이후 이번이 두 번째다. 엑소시스템즈는 신경근육 생체신호를 분석하는 '디지털 바이오마커 핵심기술'(MFI)을 기반으로 신체 기능 평가 수행이 어려운 환자군에게도 적용 가능한 근감소증 진단 시스템을 개발했다. 오노마에이아이는 경쟁이 가장 치열했던 부문인 AI에서 혁신상을 받았다. 혁신상을 받은 투툰은 AI를 활용해 문맥을 이해하고 스토리 전개까지 가능한 웹툰 제작 엔진이다. 2년 연속 최고혁신상을 받은 스타트업도 있다. 최고혁신상은 혁신상 제품들 중에서도 더 높은 점수를 받은 제품들에게만 주어진다. 블록체인 기술 스타트업 지크립토는 블록체인 기반 온라인 투표 시스템 '지케이보팅 투표소(zkVoting: Poll Station)'로 지난해에 이어 최고혁신상에 선정됐다. 지케이보팅은 유권자의 신분과 투표 내요을 공개하지 않고 투표 내용을 안전하게 전달하는 시스템으로, 선거조작 가능성 방지 등 기존 오프라인 투표소 시스템의 문제를 보완했다는 평가를 받는다. 한편, 현재까지 공개된 CES 2024 최고혁신상을 받은 한국 스타트업은 7곳으로 역대 최다를 기록했던 지난해 기록(5곳)을 넘어섰다. 지크립토 외에도 △탑테이블(3D 푸드 프린팅 시스템 '잉크') △만드로(부분성 절단 장애인용 로봇 손가락)△텐마인즈(코골이 완화 시스템 '모션필로우') △스튜디오랩(AI 기반 커머스 생성 솔루션 '셀러캔버스') △로드시스템(트립패스 모바일여권 플랫폼) △원콤(시각장애인용 스마트폰 커뮤니케이터) 등이 최고혁신상을 수상했다.

 

 

"Korean Startups Shine Globally at CES 2024: A Remarkable Triumph in Innovation"

 

In a continued trend from the previous year, South Korean ventures have once again left an indelible mark on the world stage, sweeping up prestigious innovation awards at the largest global electronics exhibition, CES (Consumer Electronics Show). Across diverse sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), financial technology, security, drones, and healthcare, Korean startups have claimed top honors. The increasing prevalence of Korean startups securing CES Innovation Awards is indicative of their growing influence and prowess in the international tech arena.

 

According to the latest data from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) on the 26th, among the 310 companies recognized with the 'CES 2024 Innovation Awards' globally, Korean enterprises accounted for a noteworthy 143, constituting an impressive 46% of the total awards. The CES Innovation Awards, presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) during the CES event in Las Vegas, are bestowed upon products demonstrating outstanding technical, design, and innovative merits on a global scale. For companies gearing up for international expansion, winning a CES Innovation Award holds significant meaning. Not only does it serve as a validation of a product's technical excellence, but it also contributes significantly to elevating brand awareness and trust.

This year's Innovation Award winners spanned various fields, including AI, blockchain, and healthcare, showcasing the diversity and strength of Korean startups. Notably, AI audio specialist 'Gaudio Lab' received the CES 2024 Innovation Award in the Web3 and Metaverse category for their AI-based real-time noise cancellation solution, 'Just Voice.' This marks the company's second consecutive win, solidifying their position as a leader in the field.

Medical AI solutions company 'Exosystems' also secured an Innovation Award in the Digital Health category for their AI biomarker healthcare solution. This marked their second win since 2020. Leveraging the 'Digital Biomarker Core' (MFI), Exosystems developed a diagnostic system applicable to patients with challenging motor function assessments.

In the highly competitive AI sector, 'Onoma AI' stood out, receiving an Innovation Award for their AI-powered webtoon creation engine, allowing for context understanding and seamless storyline development.

Several startups achieved the remarkable feat of winning the 'Best Innovation Award' for two consecutive years, a distinction reserved for products that score higher within the Innovation Award category.

Blockchain technology startup 'Zikrypto' received the prestigious 'Best Innovation Award' for their blockchain-based online voting system, 'ZK Voting: Poll Station.' This system ensures the secure transmission of voting content without disclosing voter identity, addressing concerns related to election manipulation inherent in traditional offline voting systems.

Breaking the record set in the previous year with five winners, Korean startups secured a total of seven 'Best Innovation Awards' at CES 2024. Among the notable winners were △TopTable (3D food printing system 'Ink') △Mandro (robotic fingers for partial limb amputees) △TenMinds (anti-snoring system 'MotionFlow') △StudioLab (AI-based commerce creation solution 'SellerCanvas') △RoadSystem (TripPass mobile passport platform) △Woncom (smartphone communicator for visually impaired individuals).

 

The resounding success of Korean startups at CES 2024 underscores their innovation prowess and global impact. As they continue to push the boundaries of technology, these ventures are poised to shape and lead the international tech landscape.
