(quiet) Welcome to Korea, and of course welcome to K-Water! Hope you are not jet lagged too badly. Let’s have some fun time together. (laughing & cheering) My name is ________ from the HR department. For the next three days, I will be your guide around the plant and R&D center. We hope you enjoy your stay. For most of you this is your first visit to K-Water headquarters. I am confident you will act as a bridge between K-Water Korea and Auto Dam Technology Center in Germany. So, without further delay, let’s begin our tour. As you can see on the itinerary, we will spend about two hours (from 10 to 12 noon) at the K-Water Exhibition. I will give a brief presentation on our company’s R&D center there. There will be five college interns assisting at the center who will help you with any questions you may have. From 12 noon to 1 pm, we will break for lunch at the Nonsan Resort. You will be given the menu choice of Korean or Western cuisine. In the afternoon, we will visit the Daechung Dam where you will tour most facilities.

(2) Since its establishment in 1967, K-water has been implementing national water resources management policies regarding multi purpose dams, water supply dams and regional water supply systems. It is also making a great contribution toward the development of the national economy and improving the quality of life for local people.. (3) And our researchers have contributed greatly to this day. As you can see on the screen, K-water has launched its new strategies to actively meet the new demands of the internal and external business environment. With its mission, ‘Water for the Happier World’, K-water lays the foundation for its sustainable growth.

All right. May I have your attention please?  I hope everyone enjoyed the group tour around the exhibition center? It is now 11:45 so we will be having lunch soon. It looks like the bus is ready to transport us to the resort now. Shall we all head out? It will only be a 10 minute bus ride from here.

 

All right, everyone. Please follow me this way. There are six tables reserved for us. Take a seat. We have a Western style cutlet dish and a Korean rice dish with soup. Let the servers know your choice of dish. Enjoy the meal. Well, after lunch we are heading to the Nonsan Plant and will be departing here at 1:15. There are many comfortable couches in the lounge along with some complimentary coffee. So, after you finish the meal, please take a break in the lounge. We will be spending the rest of the afternoon touring the Nonsan Plant. Okay, bon appetite!

현장 견학: 세부사항 등 소개

 

Welcome back. So how was the meal? Hope you had a nice break and enjoyed chatting with one another. This resort was actually designed for conducting internal workshops, conferences, banquets and hosting international guests like yourself. (1) I’m sure your three-day stay at K-Water Resort will be a comfy one. (2) So now we are heading toward Non San Water Supply Service Center. Do you see the light-blue building complex? That is the Non San Plant. Non San Plant has a relatively stable and efficient supply status. It can hold up to 45,000 cubic meters (m3) per day. Our water supply amounts to 34,000 cubic meters a day. The population of Non san is about 135,000 of which service population amounts to 78,000.

K-Water’s next goal is to increase water rate profitability in this area. We’ve been replacing outworn pipelines. Here at the Nonsan Plant, they have convenience facilities to create optimal working conditions for researchers and manufacturing workers.

일단 현재 상황, 위치 구조 등에 대한 사실에 집중합니다. 눈에 보이는 것에 집중하도록 합니다. 그리고 현재 상황을 최근의 성과를 설명하면서 나열, 강조합니다. 그리고 회사의 비전이나 목표를 제시하여 성과와 비전, 장기목표를 제시하여 이야기가 자연스럽게 진행되도록 합니다. 그리고 마지막으로 다시 지금 눈에 보이는 사실로 구조를 변경하면 현실과 동떨어지거나 혹은 눈앞에 보이는 것만 주먹구구식으로 설명하는 실수를 줄일 수 있습니다.

This way please. This is the Eco Technology Department. Our concept is clean, sustainable water supply. Our investment plan here at Non San shows us that the total management expense will amount to 236 billion won by year 2033. This is about four times greater than facility improvement expense. We have installed good system and facilities at various sites already, and now it's about marketizing our existing sites and management technology rather than building new facilities.

We have accomplished some positive results. We have successfully decreased water leakage by replacing total 50 km-long pipelines and installing scientific water loss sensors. As a result, our revenue-water ratio increased from 55% to 70 % this year alone.
