가장 기본이 되는 자기소개를 영어 면접에서 진행하는 노하우에 대해 설명해 드리지요.

나를 알리는 질문은 Tell me about yourself. 뿐만 아니라 다음과 같이 면접관이 질문하게 됩니다. 모두 자기소개를 해 보라는 의미이지요.
 What can you tell us about yourself?
 Would you tell me something about yourself?
 How would you describe yourself?

자기소개에는 간단한 인사/ 전공, 학위, 출신대학 등 학력/ 아르바이트나 인턴, 여행, 어학연수 등 과거경험/ 기술과 자질/ 좌우명과 관심사항

등을 넣어 줍니다.

1) 간단한 인사로 긴장을 푼다.
 First of all, pleased to meet you.
 I’m _______.
 Thank you for having me today for an interview.
 I’m excited to be here to let you know how this company would benefit from my employment.
 I’m applying for a position in the Marketing Department.

2) 전공이나 학위, 출신 대학 등
 I will be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Daehan University.
 I’m expecting a Master’s degree in biochemistry this year.
 I major in sociology with a minor in mathematics.
 I finished my Bachelor’s degree in 2015, with a major in biology and a minor in microbiology.
 I’m an engineer with a BS degree in mechanical engineering.

3) 아르바이트, 인턴경험, 동아리 등 과거 경험
 During my college days, I participated in an internship program at this company.
 I have backpack-traveled alone to Europe for about three months.
 I was a member of a dance club in university.
 I was in charge of general administration.
 That’s why I have practical experience in this part.

4) 나만의 기술과 자질
 I have taken several computer courses.
 I’m confident in speaking Japanese.
 I’m proficient in programming languages.
 I acquired interpersonal skills through my part-time position
 From my internship experience I have learned efficient time management skills.
 I possess negotiation skills essential for this position.

5) 좌우명과 관심사항
 “Don’t complain, don’t explain.” This represents who I truly am.
 I prioritize integrity in my life.
 My philosophy in life is to think of today as my last day of life.
 I think of time management as the most important factor at work.
 I’m deeply interested in global business.

나를 알리는 질문 Tell me about yourself.

Sample:
(Greetings) Thank you for having me today for an interview. My name is Ji-won Park, you can call me Kelly.
(Education) I completed (will be graduating with) a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering last year (in 2015).
(Experience) During my college days, I participated in a government-sponsored BK21 project on campus and worked with renowned software developers and professors like Dr. J.H Kim and Dr. Daniel Brown.
(Skills & Qualifications) I acquired problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to think globally. I strive hard to achieve my goal as a software developer and researcher in your company. I believe I have skills required to perform the task successfully.
(life motto or interest) I’m a very goal-oriented individual. I regard “no pain, no gain” as my life motto.
